And at other times, limits are imposed on us by the ecosystem. The first step of challenging these limits( self imposed or otherwise) is recognising them. Being creative and involved in something definitely helps one to calm down. You have to find what calms you and gives you happiness through trying out various things. It is different for different people.

My dear Anonymous.. Where are you draining your energy... overthinking, stress , anger etc.. stop these energy leakages. Cultivate healthy habits of exercise meditation if not pursuing currently. Connect with nature, listen to music, do things that make you happy. Reach out to people who need help , express gratitude.... Connect with people with positive outlook, goodluck these small changes will enhance your well-being.

the best person to share your trauma wounds is the universe.. I am not sure if you believe in the supreme power but my clients and my self have experienced tremendous results by identifying the root cause of traumas and surrendering them to the universe using healing techniques. First you have to be confident about your passion, have a concrete action plan for same and you have to trust yourself, Then try having a mediator in your family who can provide feedback to your dad about your goals and try sticking to a balance of your passion and maybe what your dad wants and reach to a middle ground if possible
