I always wanted to own one. My question is, should we buy the flat together like 'normal' couples? Or should I buy it alone? You know what? It's not easy being an autistic woman! Did you know there is this stigma? Many people still consider autism to be something that men are, not something women are. Most people see us as "crazy". We get misdiagnosed a lot. Many autistic women are sometimes misdiagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), and many times we have been told that it's just depression and anxiety, not autism, when they are comorbid with autism. People have this stigma about women. That we have to be submissive. And with us autistic women, we don't understand social cues and we take time to process, so they feel they have the need to infantilise us. They think of us as pure and innocent and they get surprised when we actually stand up. And I don't know how many times people think of me as a "b**ch" because of being straightforward, honest and blunt. Had to put this out, because the stigma of being an autistic woman is real!
