Are you considered a mother and can celebrate mother’s day if you're pregnant (but don't already have a child)?

I'm a new mother struggling with postpartum depression, and I feel ashamed to ask for help. How can I overcome the stigma and seek support for my mental health? @Natasha Singh
Anonymous-4d
You shouldn't feel ashamed. It's ok to feel this way. Asking for help doesn't make you weak, infact it shows your strength that u r taking therapy to fight for your mental health.
It's always good to talk to an expert about this. it will reveal certain things that you may not be aware of and it will result in you taking actions towards your solution. Be positive and see what happens rather than concluding that nothing will happen..there is no question of feeling ashamed! You can use this platform too to make a start. There are Drs, mental health experts, join their community a ND ask your questions to start with. Tc, Preetha

What dietary adjustments can help with postpartum recovery and healing? @NutritionistHudaShaikh
Hi there, I hope you are well. Postpartum your caloric requirements go high because you have to provide milk to the baby. Ideally, 550-600kcals is what is needed above and beyond your normal caloric intake. Moreover, your body needs to heal, recover, and gain strength during this phase. - You will have to follow a 2hrly eating pattern where you can opt for fruits, soups, roasted chana, makhana, handful nuts, sweet potato tikkis, a katori upma, etc. - You have to start your morning with Soaked almonds, and a date or two. - Have a healthy breakfast which has enough protein for recovery, fibre for better digestion, and healthy fats for recovery, and strength. - Mid-meals are important. - Drinking enough water is necessary, you can even have coconut water twice or thrice a week. - Cut down your caffeine intake, and have two glasses of milk daily, or if that's not possible have 1 Bowl of curd two times a day. - Eat more green leafy veggies, cauliflower, French beans, okra, & drumsticks

@dockalpana Heyyy!! I'm really on cloud seventh right now. I recently was gifted with a girl child. Now when the phase is coming done I've been concerned about my sexual health and the changes my body experiences during and after pregnancy. Are there any precautions I should take or anything I should do to maintain my health. Also I would like to know the challenges I might face ?
Firstly congratulations! After delivery, you will ideally be recommended by your doctor to refrain from sex for at least six weeks. Your vagina and areas surrounding it will be swollen, may have stitches or experienced tears. You will also feel uneasy and generally not in the mood for the first couple of months. After this your gynecologist will do a check up to see how you are healing and will accordingly suggest you can try intercourse, of course with precaution to see how you feel at first and slowly working up over time.

Hey friend, I understand how tough it must be dealing with health anxiety, especially after your second c-section and welcoming your baby. Just know that you're not alone in this. Try focusing on the present and your beautiful baby

@Mummalove by Diajadwani , I'm soon-to-be a first-time mom and I've noticed that I'm only producing a small amount of colostrum, which is the first milk that comes out of the breast. Is this normal? I'm curious about the typical range of colostrum production in first-time mothers and whether the quantity I'm experiencing falls within that range.
Anonymous-1d
Yes, it's normal for colostrum production to vary among first-time mothers. The quantity you're experiencing likely falls within the typical range.
Anonymous0d
Congratulations dear 🥳🥳 This is normal and usually isn't a cause for concern, but let your doctor know. While babies don't need more than colostrum for the first few days, the doctor may need to make sure your baby's getting enough to eat. It can help to breastfeed often during this time to stimulate your milk production
